
Born in Lebanon, Marie-Vida Obeid pursued her piano studies at the National Conservatory of Beirut, where she graduated with highest honors in piano performance.
She was awarded scholarships by the International Course of Spanish Music in Compostela, as well as by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of Cooperation with the Arab World, enabling her to pursue two years of advanced studies at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid.
She has attended masterclasses with renowned professors such as A. Guijarro, M. Carra, J. Colom, J. Wijn, L. Moura-Castro, and J. Otero, among others.
Among her accolades, she notably won first prize in the interuniversity piano competition organized by the American University of Beirut.
Marie-Vida has given solo recitals at the Cervantes Institute in Beirut, at the Juan March Foundation in Madrid, at the M. Gómez Matías Foundation in Arenas de San Pedro (Ávila), as well as at the Cultural Center of Madrid.
She is also a member of chamber music groups, with whom she has performed concerts at the Guipuzcoa Athenaeum, at the Auditorium of Caja España (Valladolid), and for the social work of Caja Cantabria (Santander), premiering contemporary works.
Furthermore, she performs alongside soprano Laura Colina at festivals such as the Primaveras Pejinas in the Cantabrian town of Laredo, at the music festival organized by the Museum of Evolution in Ibeas de Juarros (Burgos), and in the concert series organized by the Asturian House in Madrid.
Since 2011, she has been a member of the Baalbeck Duo with soprano Laura Colina.
She is a certified piano teacher accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science. She has completed courses in music pedagogy at the ESA (European Suzuki Association), as well as various summer courses at the University of Cantabria. Additionally, her tenure as a piano teacher at the American Conservatory of Paris is noteworthy.
She recently collaborated with the Music Classroom of the University of Cantabria on the Pimem project.
Currently, she resides in Cantabria, where she balances her teaching career with her activities as a concert performer.
